Lube Sheep Bento Boxes

Lube Sheep is a popular Japanese brand of bento supplies with an utterly unexplainable (and utterly clean—get your mind out of the gutter, missy) Japlish name. This year, Lube Sheep has three lines of bento boxes: Putifresh (petit + fresh), cute kids' boxes with fruit themes, Clickety-Click, ultracute kids' boxes with animal themes, and Urara, more sophisticated boxes with traditional Japanese themes. All Lube Sheep boxes are microwaveable as long as you remove the inner lids, which warp easily under heat. They're not dishwasher-safe, so wash them by hand using a non-abrasive cleaner and a soft sponge.

The cover of the stacking bento box says, "Happy fruits is very delicious. I will eat this and become fortunate all together!" The sets include a bento box, a lid cup, chopsticks and matching case, and a banana drawstring bag. The boxes can hold about 2 1/4 cups or 500 ml of food, enough for an adult's lunch.

"Hai-kara" is an old Japanese way of saying that something is hip or cool, and this bento box set embodies hai-kara. It's an exciting bento box that's simple but loaded with visual style. Compact and easy to use with its two-tier design and transparent case top, the box has a cute flower-power geometric design that appeals to a wide age range. This set includes a drawstring bag, bento band, and matching chopsticks and chopsticks case. The bento box measures about 15 cm x 6.5 cm, and the tiers are 3 and 4 cm deep.
