The dangling objects at the end of the two rightmost women’s braids are saçbağı (sach-baa-ih), tassels of gold or silver chains ornamented with jewels.
Women’s headscarves are usually depicted as plain white or embroidered along the edges, but Lorichs shows printed or heavily embroidered scarves , one with a long fringe. Lorichs also depicts scarves that fall far below the women’s waists, as opposed to the usual scarves that are just long enough to tie under the chin.
